Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Roosevelt County Criminal History does not keep or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, the message may be retained long enough to review it and respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical details when a page loads, including:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when one is available
- Visited pages and the time spent on them
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show aggregate patterns, such as which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Analytics providers assist with that measurement. You may block cookies through your browser settings, although doing so can change how parts of the site work.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing bugs and other technical faults
- Maintaining site availability, speed, and operation
- Routing a search request to the selected outside provider
- Measuring which content visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Roosevelt County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It provides general directions to official custodians, including the Roosevelt County Sheriff's Office, local judicial clerks, the New Mexico Department of Public Safety, and the New Mexico DPS Sex Offender Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal-history files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes available on this site. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. The provider chooses its retention and disclosure practices, which we do not control. Read those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Roosevelt County offices, New Mexico court portals, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you follow an external link, the destination's privacy policy controls that visit. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising companies may track activity across websites to select targeted ads. Their systems conduct that tracking, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may nevertheless be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Outside search providers that process submitted queries
- Advertising networks that serve content on these pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when disclosure is compelled by a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information in our possession. No internet-connected service can guarantee perfect security, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If we learn that a minor provided such data, we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide additional rights over personal data. New Mexico's Inspection of Public Records Act, Sections 14-2-1 through 14-2-12 NMSA 1978, governs access to records held by public bodies. Section 29-10-6 NMSA 1978 separately provides verified subject access to a person's own arrest-record information held by the state repository. Those government-record laws do not turn this private site's analytics into public records. With respect to information we hold, you may:
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Ask for access to information maintained about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Object to or opt out of certain processing where the law permits
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised. A changed version will be posted here and will show a new effective date, so this page should be reviewed periodically.
Effective date: August 1, 2026
